The Florida Computer Science Standards are an important factor for education with technology within a K-12 system. These standards help facilitate and standardize the expectations for learning and connecting with material for each grade level, which helps determine which students need more help, which need less, and which are right on track. One in particular is the standard SC.912.CS-PC.3.3, in the high school grade level. This benchmark talks about conducting research through technology services, thus gaining access to newspapers, articles, and many other useful tools for research. It's incredibly important to get these skills in high school, as they are incredibly useful later in life. Throughout one's collegiate career, research is incredibly common; due to this, it helps a lot to get some experience before so that a student is well-acquainted.

The CPALMS Educator Toolkit is another incredibly useful resource for teachers to utilize in classrooms. When I practiced this, I chose 7th Grade Language Arts as my subject and grade. It was incredibly interesting to see all of the different standards and resources available to educators, which helps a lot, as many teachers struggle with finding material or extra resources for educating. The lesson plans especially seem like something that could help with teachers, especially if one is just starting out.

All in all, I think that using the Internet as an educator comes with benefits and challenges alike. Being a good Internet Searcher means that you can accurately and quickly find and utilize resources online, understanding what to look up, which websites to use, and what tools you have at hand. One search skill that I often utilize is the quotation marks. When you have quotation marks in a search, you can often find things quicker, as it gives a keyword for what is being looked for on the site. More often than not, if you are looking for a direct quote, this is a good way to get it. However, it's more important to always be safe when using the Internet. One search tip that is also helpful is to know where your WiFi is connected. Many WiFi networks that are public are also unsafe, as they are open to individuals that can leak your information or spread passwords. However, being careful and knowing what you connect to is one good way to make sure that the Internet is used wisely and safely.
