Copyright is an important aspect of technology utilized within the classroom, but many may not fully understand the term, despite how much it is often spoken about in the media. In short, having a copyright/something being copyrighted means that it's someone else's intellectual property---thus, if you purchase a design on Etsy, you aren't owning the actual design itself, but paying the creator to use it. Many things that we see in everyday media are copyrighted, but you might not even know it: Coke, Disney, or Dyson, to name a few. Fair use is often a subset of copyright, so they're often seen together. Fair use means that as long as you follow the perimeters set by the copyright owner, you're allowed to utilize the copyright without their knowledge or acknowledgement. Technology in the classroom, for example, is often within the lines of fair use, but others are somewhat surprising: YouTube criticism videos and commentary pieces are often also under fair use....

My experience using MS Word as a student hasn't been my favorite, which I definitely feel like is an unpopular opinion. Of course, that's not to say that I haven't used it my fair share (most of my elementary and middle years were dominated by the family computer, of which word was exclusively installed). However, I far prefer Google Docs in place of Microsoft Word for a variety of reasons.      Hi! My name is Emmy Jones---though technically it's Emily, named after Emily Bronte. My mom originally wanted to name me Bronte, but thought people would find it too obscure; so naturally, she went with the most popular name of 2004 instead. Unlike some people, I don't mind my name, but to be fair, I think about names quite a bit more than any other nineteen-year-old would---after all, I'm usually keeping lists of names for future book characters. Speaking of book, I'm writing my own, in a hope to achieve one of my biggest dreams, which is being an author. On the more fun side of things, I've still got enough to talk about: I love Taylor Swift, all sorts of movies, and especially TV shows; my ultimate favorites have to be Succession or Breaking Bad .      My prior experience using technology in an educational setting is probably what everyone else is going to write about, which for me was online school during COVID-19. I don't think anyone looks back a...
